What is Forexia®

Forexia® is a highly innovative product coming from the perfect homogenization of natural wood (around 70%) with a special grade of high density polyethylene by Innovene (around 30%), combining the advantages and strengths of both materials.

It is suitable decking for private or commercial use in areas like verandas, swimming pools, paths, small bridges, marine docks, etc.

The Technology

French Silvadec S.A. is the only European company disposing today the US Strandex license, to produce high quality decks dedicated to external use.

Strandex technology has a 20 year background and experience in designing equipment (extrusion heads) for the perfect blending and molding of such materials which finally guarantees technical reliability and top quality finished goods.

Such innovative products maybe under use in Europe for only a few years, but have been tested and developed in the US, Japan and Canada for more than twenty years at either private or public areas.

A remarkable example is the wide use for marine docks by the US Navy for reasons of either physical & mechanical properties, but also for environmental reasons.

No risk to bend, swell or rot
No risk to have cracks
No slippery when wet
No risk to peel and thus present edges or “needles”
Remarkable dimensional stability considering the contraction-expansion effect
No water absorbance
Especially resistant to termites, parasites, fungus that harm natural wood
No risk to turn “gray”; colors “kept alive” for many-many years due to special additives inside the polyethylene to resist to UV radiation

Forexia® is “environmental friendly” throughout its whole lifetime:

During its production: by using mainly natural products such as wood flour
During its use: by not requiring the use of chemicals for maintenance
During its cycle end: by being recyclable

It is a product under stringent specifications, certified by CTBA.

Installation

Forexia® is designed for easy and quick installation. Using the special Inox clips and following the installation instructions, placement can take place even without the help of a technician.

Forexia® can be cut, drilled and shaped just like any other wood type.
